Waverly Place

There is an old Irish saying that neatly encapsulates the reality of human society - Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine - In the shelter of each other, we live.

This saying simply acknowledges our interconnectedness.  The fact that we all live in the shelter of each other means that each of us should have an opportunity to benefit from the advantages, contribute to the well-being and have a say in how the problems and challenges in our societies are addressed. This can most effectively be achieved if we engage in a process of co-creation.

Co-creation is not just about solving problems, it’s a creative process where our differences transform from being seen as obstacles to being seen as distinct advantages.  As each voice is heard, each experience validated and each suggestion received with respect, everybody develops ownership of the process and a fuller view of reality is ours.

Working together to co-create a society where we all belong both lifts our vision and helps us to find practical solutions. We each begin to search for what we can contribute to the well-being of all as we understand that this is also to our own advantage. As others attend to our welfare and we attend to theirs we can radically change the dynamic in our societies by co-creating new and innovative initiatives.

In a process of co-creation there is no them, only us.
